THE ROLLING OF A DICE WILL NEVER ABOLISH THE CASE

Basement Roma, curatorial space of magazine CURA, Ilaria Marotta and Andrea Baccin curate a show featuring the works of Nico Vascellari. The nature of the show is quite bizarre, it is an exhibition composed by three works and object that are shown in four happenings that take place as a sort of fight club with only 33 people admitted. The title of the exhibition refers to gambling situations in which people meet up to play over money, destiny and sometimes life. The exhibition functions as a reflection on art and it’s market. Space becomes designated for play, rules are made by the artist and by the viewers in a spontaneous, free manner.

WHAT HAPPENS IN BISCIA VASCELLARI STAYS IN BISCIA VASCELLARI

Photography is not allowed within the show, therefore, these happening will only be described through memories and reflections. The exhibition also will adopt an alternative method of acquiring works that will be through bets and generosity.

Fading neon lights and whispers give an ethereal and informal taste to the exhibition that guarantees a unique experience. The artist,  devilish yet, an attentive judge, explores the fine line between the sacred and the playful.
