DÆDALUS: What was your coming of age period like?
GIGI: Actually I didn’t start very young, I enrolled at the University of Milan (UNIMI) studying Political Science and while I was studying I started to work as a model and I really enjoyed my first experience of work at the point that I decided to follow that carrier at age of 22.
D: Is fashion something you’ve always been aware of?
G: I was not always willing to work as a model, as my family always pushed me and my brother to study at university and to create a solid carrier, perhaps since I was little back at home I grew up with lots of soap operas and films when everybody was reunited and I enjoyed recreating the scenes acting like different characters.
D: What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?
G: I have been spending this lockdown in a new house, my flatmates are international and it has been quite interesting sharing and speaking with them from French to Italian, Portoghese and English… feeling so cool this lockdown.
D: Is it better to be extraordinary and late, or good and on time?
G: Absolutely extraordinary and late.
D: Anything outstanding you’ve seen on the internet in the past months?
G: Yes. The news is from America and it says that Joe Biden is the new President of U.S.A. and the Vice President is Kamala Harris. She is the first Vice President black woman.

G: I’m most curious about art, music and cinema.
D: How do you develop yourself outside of the work environment?
G: Recently, I studied recitation and drama in London. I also meditate, I’m always looking for developing my personal and spiritual growth.
D: In which way do you think fashion is adapting to the post corona world?
G: This time has been very challenging for any industry, at the same time I have a perception that so many things it is changing slowly in this 2020, we need to be way more connected online and due to the circumstance of lockdown we are more connected to the nature and simple things in life. The fashion industry is exploring both sides during and post lockdown.
D: What’s something important you’ve learned about life?
G: I have learned that no matter what others can say or do to you, your path is about discovering and realizing your purpose in life. On the way, be kind to yourself.
D: what are you looking forward to for the rest of 2020?
G:I have few works scheduled for these last month of 2020 and then I want to fly to Brazil to see my nephew being born.
