Daedalus has talked to Pablo Kaestli, one of the newest entries of the model industry in Los Angeles.
I. How did you first start modeling and how did you get into it?
I got scouted a couple of times in Montreal, and I went to see a few agencies and then I signed with one. I wanted to be a model to travel and win money while doing it! Then I realized that modeling is much more than just a way to travel.
D:Have you been signed by any other agency since then?
P.K: I recently signed with Next Models Los Angeles and I am super excited to work with them! It’s a huge opportunity and can’t wait to see what 2018 has prepared for me!
D:What has been your favorite shoot?
P.K: I love doing creative work and my good friend Filbert Kung is an amazing photographer, so we create a lot of editorials. My favorite one has to be the next one because we always work on new ideas and we have more and more coming!
D: How do you describe your personal style? where do you pull your inspiration?
P.K: I am developing still; I learn quickly and a lot, but I can’t say I have a personal style just yet. Still trying to find myself, but I feel more connected to nature and I get a lot of inspiration from it. There is something amazing about every landscape.
D: Tell us about your education…
P.K: I have a diploma in administration where I learned a lot about economics, finance, and world politics. I am bilingual in French and English, French being my first language.
D: What are your goals as a model? how do you see yourself progress in this field?
P.K: I want to succeed and hopefully be in the top 50 this year. I see everything as a competition, and this is definitely a new challenge for me, but don’t worry, I am ready for it!
D: Now looking into your future, do you have some specific goals apart from modeling?
P.K: I want to get into acting; it always was something in the back of my head and I never thought I would actually reach for it, but I am doing it now. Ultimately my goal is to be happy and live a fulfilling life.
D: What is your nutrition? how often do you go to the gym?
P.K: This is very important for me; I am committed to sports even though I don’t play them competitively anymore, I do my best to stay in the best shape possible and that’s why I invested so much time in reading about training and nutrition as a way to stay healthy as much as I can. I do sports every day and always think of ways to challenge myself to push me to the next level. I try to be the best version of myself and my sports schedule help me greatly in achieving this.
D: What makes you confident?
P.K: I don’t consider myself confident; I am happy with what I am and this is what makes me confident. You can’t teach yourself confidence, but you can help yourself by truly be proud of what you are.
D: Who do you look up to in Fashion?
P.K: I don’t really have a preference; I look up to all the new and crazy ideas because it’s always impressive. Fashion is art and always brings something bigger than just clothes.
